What are HV-MTL Points?

NFTs in the HV-MTL collection are assigned inherent Base Points determined by their existing metadata. Owners can earn Extra Points which can be assigned to either LOTM or HV-MTL NFTs.

How Does It Work?

1. Get Engrams from games

You’ll receive Engrams as rewards from leaderboards and from in-game drops across different games in the Faraway ecosystem. This includes games like Serum City, Legends of the Mara, Shatterline, Dookey Dash: Unclogged, and future games in the Faraway ecosystem. Engrams can also be integrated into products that aren’t directly made or published by Faraway, but that partnered in some capacity.

Engrams live off chain and are stored in your Faraway account.

2. Use Engrams to open Rift Decoders

In the HV-MTL Points Portal, you can use your Engrams to open Rift Decoders. Rift Decoders will reward you with either a HV-MTL Key (bronze, silver, or gold) or in-game consumables for various Faraway games.

3. Use Your Key to open HV-MTL Crate

Keys are mintable. They need to be minted then burned in order to open HV-MTL Crates. Bronze Keys open Bronze HV-MTL Crates, Silver Keys open Silver HV-MTL Crates, and Gold Keys open Gold HV-MTL Crates.

What’s in the box?

Right now, HV-MTL Crates contain Flat Points, Point Modifiers, and Ascension Materials, but who knows what you’ll find in them in the future? It should be pretty obvious but keep in mind that Gold HV-MTL Crates give out the best rewards (most points, highest modifiers etc)

ICYMI, here’s our guide to the points system. The extremely condensed version is that HV-MTLs and Kodamara have a certain number of Base Points associated with them depending on different metadata, and they can also get Extra Points.

Extra Points can come in the form of Flat Points and Point Modifiers (which multiply the Base Points the NFT has). However, there’s a limit to the amount of Extra Points that can be applied to an NFT. Ascension Materials are used to increase this limit.

4. Assign Your Points

All of this work, and for what? Well, points are going to go a long way. You’ll want to accumulate as many Extra Points as possible and distribute them amongst your HVs.
